Eski tahtalar, toz, unutulmuş eşyalar ve dürüst olmak gerekirse biraz da korkuyla dolu. Net bir plan yok, tecrübe yok, bana ne yapacağımı söyleyen kimse yok. O yüzden bugün yapabileceğim tek şeyi yaptım: başladım. Alanı boşalttım. Yılların birikmiş dağınıklığını süpürdüm, eşyaları merdivenlerden indirdim, olmayan bir yerde yer açtım. Bu çatı katının nasıl olacağını henüz tam olarak bilmiyorum.

Şehir merkezinde dolaşırken her yerde tarih görüyorsun. Kayseri Kalesi, eski çarşılar ve taş binalar sana buranın eskiden İpek Yolu üzerinde önemli bir durak olduğunu hatırlatıyor. Ama dürüst olalım… Kayseri’de herkesin aklında aynı şey var: yemek. Özellikle mantı. Burada bir söz var: “Bir kaşıkta 40 mantı yoksa, o Kayseri mantısı değildir.” Bir de sucuk ve pastırma var.
